SIGNATURE SPICE: Kusha Spices Kapok Buds are procured from the ‘Malnad’ region of Karnataka. They are carefully harvested and dried to retain their robust flavor and aroma. The buds are highly prized for their unique taste, which resembles a mix of clove and pepper, giving an earthy and slightly pungent flavor to traditional dishes.

ACTIVE INGREDIENTS: Kapok buds are high in ‘Flavonoids ‘and ‘Phenols’.

PRIMARY USE:  The principle use of Kapok Buds is to make a specialty masala powder used in a South Indian rice dish with lentils called ‘Bisibele Bhat’. That apart Kapok buds can be used to flavor soups, stews, curries, etc.  The buds are typically dry roasted before being ground or added whole to dishes, enhancing the spice profile of curries and gravies.

OTHER USES: Kapok Buds can be included in spice blends like garam masala. They are often used in festive or ceremonial dishes in South India for their strong flavor.
